The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013 finally received royal assent on the 17th July 2013 paving the way for same sex couples to get married next spring in the same way as heterosexual couples have for centuries. This marks the end of a whole raft of laws and conventions that have sought through the ages to discriminate against homosexuals and it would seem that Parliament is now at long last supportive of equal rights to the LGB community.
Here at Grant Stephens Family Law we have uniquely tailored service from LGB solicitors who are distinctively sensitive to the needs of the LGB community. These range from adoption advice and representation to shared parenting agreements. We also assist LGB separated couples who have disputes over the arrangements in respect to their children either through alternative dispute resolution such as mediation and collaborative law or through the Court process. Further, until the same sex marriage legislation comes into effect, if you are in a civil partnership or you are thinking about entering into one. Grant Stephens Family Law can help you with a range of legal solutions from pre-partnership agreements to Civil Partnership Dissolution and dealing with Finances on Civil Partnership Dissolution.
