At Grant Stephens Family Law, our Mediator Lisa Evans offers a full range of family mediation services in Cardiff and surrounding areas. Lisa is a qualified Family Mediator, accredited by the Family Mediation Council (FMC). She can conduct assessment meetings and sign court forms when appropriate.
Lisa has successfully conducted many different types of family mediation and has many testimonials that support her work from both solicitors and clients alike.
Family mediation allows families to resolve their disputes in a safe, supported, and neutral environment. Family mediation can provide the framework for your discussion and a mediator can work with you to open the channels of communication, allowing you to form your own proposals that are right for your family. Mediators always remain impartial and do not take sides or pass judgment.
Mediation can allow families as much time and space as they need, with no outside pressure, to allow them to think through options and decide which is the best way forward for everyone. This means they will have time to reality test the full implications of proposed arrangements which may involve child arrangements and/or financial matters. Once you have completed this process, you will feel equipped to implement your decision and form a legally binding agreement.
Family Mediation is not appropriate in every case; however, you are obligated to attend a Mediation Information Assessment Meeting (MIAM) if you or your solicitor wish to make an appointment to the court. There are some exemptions to this which we would be happy to discuss with you if you feel they may apply.
At Grant Stephens Family Law, we keep the pricing of our mediation sessions very transparent, helping you to budget effectively. You will be advised on the expected time frame and/or number of sessions for your individual circumstances at your MIAM. You will only be charged for face-to-face or video meetings and the preparation of parenting plans, memorandum of understanding and open financial summaries.
You will be guided and supported at all stages of the family mediation process.
