Pro Bono
Pro Bono Family Law Solicitors
At Grant Stephens Family Law, we understand how difficult it can be to get legal advice and support when you are in a tough financial situation. Our solicitors approach pro bono cases with respect and dignity, ensuring that every client receives expert legal advice.

Family law matters are emotional, delicate and can put a large financial strain on you and your family. The pro bono team at Grant Stephens Family Law assist clients to get access to expert legal advice, without the financial burden.
Legal aid is available to some people to financially assist with their family law matter, however, there are specific criteria that people have to meet in order to be eligible. This results in many clients being left out, without the ability to afford legal costs on their own, but unable to receive any financial support.
The Pro Bono team at Grant Stephens Family Law hold monthly clinics to provide initial advice, review documents, provide guidance on the next steps and signpost additional resources for clients to use.
Our Cardiff Pro Bono clinics
Our monthly Pro bono clinics operate on an invite only system.
Once you have submitted your request for our Pro Bono services via filling in the form to the right, your submission will be reviewed by our Pro Bono team. If your matter meets the criteria for our Pro Bono clinics, we will be in touch to arrange for you to attend one of our clinics.
We will not be in touch with you if your enquiry does not meet the eligibility criteria for our Pro Bono clinics.
Our Pro Bono clinics take place on the 3rd Thursday of every month
In the meeting, you will meet one-to-one with one of the solicitors in our Pro Bono team who will discuss your situation with you, go through any documents you have received, and advise you on any next steps you should take.
Please note:
We only accept pro bono enquiries through the form on the right hand side of this page. We will review all pro bono enquiries submitted to us to determine whether they fit our criteria.
Our pro bono legal clinics are reserved for people who do not qualify for legal aid but cannot afford to fund legal advice for their family law matter. You can find out whether you are eligible for legal aid here: Check if you can get legal aid – GOV.UK
