Who qualifies for a free initial consultation?
We offer an initial consultation where the first 30 minutes are free of charge to the majority of our clients. However, in some circumstances, clients do not qualify to receive the free advice
We do not offer free initial consultation if:
- There are ongoing proceedings – sometimes clients have applied to the courts themselves, or have transferred to us from a previous solicitor. In these circumstances, there would be documents for the solicitors to review in order to get a full understanding of your matter. This therefore means we cannot offer the free advice.
- You wish to vary a previous order from the court – similarly to if there are ongoing proceedings, our solicitors would need to review the previous court orders if a client wished to instruct us for a variation. This therefore means that we cannot offer the free advice
- You wish to instruct us to draft a Prenuptial or a Postnuptial Agreement – due to the complexity of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, we do not offer the free advice.
Please note: Whilst we offer initial consultations where the first 30 minutes are free of charge, we do not limit the consultation to 30 minutes. The majority of our initial consultations last around an hour. Any time after the free 30 minutes is charged at an introductory rate of £200 + VAT.
